Make An Information Request

The Government established the Right To Information (RTI) Unit inside the Office of the Prime Minister under the Department of Strategic Planning, Policy & Aid Coordination. Below are brief descriptions of the officers who are serving within the RTI Unit:

Manager

As the RTI Manager, Harold's biggest responsibility is to make sure that the RTI Unit functions according to the RTI Act and the policies that guide the implementation of the Act. As the superior officer of the RTI Unit he is responsible for the monitoring and the evaluation of the officers serving under his leadership, and he provides timely reports to the Right To Information Steering Committee.

Records & Information Management Officer

June Naviti joined the RTI Unit in 2017 as the Records Management Office but she had been involved with the RTI few years before 2017 in other projects supporting right to information in Vanuatu.

Her role in the RTI Unit is to provide advice to government departments on records management and to develop policies to guide and support the proper management of records in all government departments. She played a key role in the development of the Vanuatu National Policy on Records & Information Management that was launched by the Prime Minister in 2018.

Publications Officer

Before joining the RTI Unit in early 2019 Kevin Henry had been with Transparency International Vanuatu for six years, he played a vital role in the nation-wide consultation campaign that saw the RTI Bill (before it became law) reach over 15,000 people for consultation before being tabled in Parliament by the Prime Minister.

As the RTI Unit's Publications Officer one of his main tasks is to identify and develop guidelines to assist government agencies to properly publish their records as directed by the RTI Law.
