In 2016 Vanuatu embraced the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as part of its development approach. 

Since then Vanuatu has been fully committed to the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development which was localised into Vanuatu's very own plan; The National Sustainable Development Plan.
